User-Experience
Inputs & Outputs VP4
The VP4 slots effortlessly in front of a tube amp, inside a 4-cable loop, after a modern modeller or straight into a studio desk. Premium instrument/line analogue I/O is paired with fixed-clock 48 kHz S/PDIF, a class-compliant 24-bit/48 kHz USB-C audio/MIDI interface and space-saving 3.5 mm TRS MIDI. Two freely assignable pedal jacks accept expression pedals or single switches. Four-cable method, straight loop return or pure digital workflow—all cabling is quick and self-explanatory. Robust, logically grouped sockets survive the road, while IN/OUT CLIP LEDs and an auto-switching 0–18 dB input pad keep levels in check. Power comes from the included 9 V DC/1.3 A supply with pop-suppression for silent start-ups.
The Four Cable Method, or "4CM," allows you to run two separate mono signal paths through the VP4: one between your guitar and amp for "PRE" effects like wah or drive, and a second through your amp's FX loop for "POST" effects like delay and reverb, which can sound clearer and more defined in this position.
