About Fractal Audio

Fractal Audio Systems fue fundada en 2006 para crear la revolucionaria línea Axe-Fx de preamplificadores/procesadores de efectos. Desde entonces, guitarristas de todo el mundo han adoptado la tecnología de Fractal. En Fractal, estamos dedicados a la calidad sin compromisos en la búsqueda de la "tecnología digital eXtreme". Para los años 70, había un sinfín de pedales disponibles: los efectos de chorus, phaser y flanger se volvieron ubicuos. Conforme la tecnología avanzaba y los CI se volvían cada vez más densos, un nuevo paradigma fue lanzado al estrellato: el digital. Se prometió que los efectos digitales ofrecerían un rendimiento muy superior: cero ruido, tiempos de retardo casi infinitos, reverberaciones prístinas y más. Pronto nació el multi-efecto. En una sola unidad montada en rack, el guitarrista podía tener el equivalente a una docena de diferentes pedales de efectos. La competencia era feroz, con cada fabricante intentando superar al otro al agregar más y más a sus cajas. Últimamente, y desafortunadamente, esto llevó al declive del digital. A medida que la ingeniería daba paso al marketing, muchos comenzaron a cuestionar las nuevas ropas del Emperador. Las presiones de precios y los recortes de costos obligaron a los ingenieros a usar componentes de baja calidad y algoritmos inferiores, y la calidad de los efectos sufrió. Granulosos, cursis, ruidosos. Sin duda, muchos han escuchado estos términos al referirse a los efectos digitales. Pronto, muchos guitarristas se rebelaron contra los efectos digitales y los pedales analógicos ahora han disfrutado de un renacimiento. Los viejos pedales analógicos son apreciados y buscados entre los coleccionistas vintage. Los músicos abandonaron los procesadores de rack en favor de un tablero lleno de pedales individuales. Pero de hecho, la tecnología digital es bastante capaz de entregar todos los beneficios que originalmente se promocionaron.
