Just a few minutes of video are all you need to get a basic understanding of the tone matching method, and by then you'll certainly have an idea about which favourite tone you want to match first.

Cooper Carter has also made other interesting videos. The following eight demonstrate the Axe-Fx-II's factory presets, albeit with a previous firmware version. Nevertheless, they give a good idea of the pre-programmed works sounds and the versatility of the Axe-Fx II.

On these two videos Cooper Carter is using Scenes on the Axe-Fx II and MFC-101 and demonstrating the Looper and Dynamics in Firmware V10.

Cooper Carter’s childhood was spent studying the music of songwriters such as Shawn Mullins, the Indigo Girls, and Matthew Sweet. By the age of twelve, he had developed a guitar style informed both by these influences and by the guitar work of Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, and Joe Bonamassa. In a summer program at Berklee College of Music in 2005, Cooper studied songwriting, advanced music theory, and rock guitar performance, developing a new appreciation for the techniques and styles of virtuoso guitar players like John Petrucci, Eric Johnson, and Greg Howe. As a solo artist, Cooper’s songwriting style therefore reflects a combined love of the guitar’s unique voice and that of carefully-penned lyrics and heartfelt vocal melodies.

As a solo artist, with Cooper Carter & the Royal Senders, he pairs a guitar-driven, energetic musical approach with a compositional and lyrical style informed by those of singer-songwriters greats.

As a session and performing guitarist, Cooper has recorded and appeared onstage with artists including:

  • The Wesley Cook Band
  • The Swear
  • Hannah Thomas Band
  • Jessica Cayne
  • Indigo Girls
  • Sadie & Sariah
  • Red Lion
  • The Shadowboxers
  • Mary Maine
